Overview
The co-browser is a real web browser that the AI uses inside your chat. You watch it live in the Browser tab of the panel on the right of the chat: the page, the AI’s cursor, and a short caption for each step, for example “Clicking ‘Sign in’”. You can take control at any time, do a step yourself, and give control back. Use it for tasks that need a real website: look something up on a site, compare prices, fill in a form with you, or read a page that needs a click before it shows its content. Each chat gets its own browser. It runs on the RelayHub server, separate from your own computer, so it never sees your own browser’s tabs, passwords or cookies.Opening the browser
- Ask the AI. For example: “Open https://example.com and tell me the opening hours.” The Browser tab opens by itself when the AI starts the browser.
- Open it yourself. Open the Browser tab and click Open browser.
- Keyboard shortcut. Press Cmd+Shift+B (Mac) or Ctrl+Shift+B (Windows) to show or hide the Browser tab.
Watching the AI
Before each step, the AI’s cursor moves to the part of the page it is about to use, a ring marks that element, and a caption names the step. Each step is also listed in the chat with its time.Taking control
Click Take control, or click anywhere on the page while the AI works. Your first click takes control and does not go to the page; your next click does. While you hold control:- The AI is paused. Its next browser step waits for you.
- You can click, type, scroll, use the address bar, go back and forward, and open or close tabs.
- Type passwords, one-time codes and card numbers yourself. The AI never types into these fields and never sees what you type there.
Giving control back
Click Give back to AI. The AI looks at the page again before it continues, so it sees what you changed. If the AI stopped while you held control, click Resume the AI on the card in the chat.Questions the AI asks you
The AI asks in the chat before it does something that matters. Only the person who opened the browser can answer.
Websites that you write in your own message are allowed without a site card.
Pointing at something on the page
Click Annotate to mark parts of the page for the AI. Click an element, or drag to select an area, and add a comment to each mark. Add to message puts your notes, with a picture of each, into the chat box, ready to send.Downloads
A file that a page downloads appears under Downloads at the bottom of the browser panel. Click Save to Files to keep it in your Files, in this chat. Files larger than 25 MB, and web page files (HTML and SVG), cannot be saved.Closing the browser
- Close browser in the More menu of the panel closes it at once. Any sign-ins you made in it are gone.
- The browser closes by itself after 10 minutes without activity. In the last minute the panel shows Keep open. Every browser closes after one hour.
- Open a new browser starts a fresh one. Nothing carries over from an earlier browser.
Good to know
- One browser at a time. Each person can have one browser open. To start one in another chat, close the first one.
- Not every site can be opened. Internal company addresses are blocked, and so are sites with an invalid security certificate. The AI tells you when this happens; you can open a trusted site in your own browser.
- Pages are information, not instructions. The AI treats what a web page says as content to read. A page cannot tell the AI to submit, pay or delete something without your approval.
- Availability. Your administrator controls whether the co-browser is available. If you do not see the Browser tab, it is not turned on for your organization.
