RelayHub integrates with Google Workspace so you can read emails, manage calendar events, create spreadsheets, edit documents, and more — all through natural language in chat. The AI handles the API calls; you just describe what you need.

Connecting Google Workspace

1
Open Settings
2
Navigate to Settings from the sidebar and scroll to the Google Workspace section, or look for the Google connection prompt when you first try to use a Workspace feature in chat.
3
Authorize with Google
4
Click Connect Google Workspace. A Google sign-in window opens. Choose the account you want to connect, review the permissions, and click Allow.
5
RelayHub requests access incrementally. When you first connect, you may only grant Drive access. If you later ask the AI to check your email, it will prompt you to grant Gmail access as well. Each service (Gmail, Calendar, Sheets, etc.) can be authorized separately.
6
Confirm the connection
7
Once authorized, a green indicator appears next to Google Workspace in Settings. You can now use all connected Google services directly from any chat.

What You Can Do

Gmail

Ask the AI to work with your email:
  • Triage inbox: “Show me my unread emails” or “What emails came in today from my boss?”
  • Read emails: “Read the latest email from accounting”
  • Send emails: “Send an email to sarah@example.com about the meeting tomorrow”
  • Search: “Find all emails from last week about the budget proposal”
  • Manage labels: “Star that email” or “Archive the newsletter”
Sending, deleting, and trashing emails require your confirmation before executing. Reading and searching happen immediately.

Google Calendar

Manage your schedule through chat:
  • View agenda: “What’s on my calendar today?” or “Show me this week’s events”
  • Create events: “Schedule a team standup tomorrow at 9am for 30 minutes”
  • Quick add: “Add lunch with Bob on Friday at noon”
  • Edit events: “Move my 2pm meeting to 3pm”
  • Check availability: “Am I free Thursday afternoon?”

Google Sheets

Create and manage spreadsheets:
  • Create spreadsheets: “Create a Google Sheet called Q1 Budget”
  • Write data: “Add a header row with Name, Amount, Date to my new sheet”
  • Read data: “What’s in the Sales Report spreadsheet?”
  • Append rows: “Add a new row with today’s expense data”
  • Multi-step workflows: “Pull my calendar events for March and put them in a new spreadsheet” — the AI handles each step automatically
When you ask for a “Google Sheet” or “spreadsheet in Drive”, RelayHub creates a real Google Sheets document in your Drive. If you want a downloadable Excel file instead, ask for an “Excel file” or “xlsx”.

Google Docs

Read and edit documents in Google Drive:
  • Create documents: “Create a Google Doc called Meeting Notes”
  • Read content: “What does my Project Plan document say?”
  • Edit content: “Add a paragraph at the top of the document about our Q2 goals”

Google Slides

Work with presentations:
  • Create presentations: “Create a new presentation called Q1 Review”
  • Read slides: “What’s on slide 3 of my pitch deck?”
  • Add slides: “Add a blank slide to the presentation”
  • Edit text: “Replace all instances of ‘2025’ with ‘2026’ in the presentation”

Google Drive Management

Beyond file import, you can manage your Drive:
  • Search files: “Find all PDFs in my Drive from this month”
  • Create folders: “Create a folder called Reports in my Drive”
  • Copy files: “Make a copy of the Budget Template spreadsheet”
  • Share files: “Share the Q1 Report with alice@example.com as a viewer”
  • Check permissions: “Who has access to the Strategy Doc?”

How Confirmations Work

RelayHub uses a safety tier system for Google Workspace actions:
Action TypeBehaviorExamples
Read operationsExecute immediatelySearch emails, view calendar, read sheets
Non-destructive writesExecute immediatelyCreate spreadsheet, add calendar event, write data
Sensitive actionsConfirmation cardModify email labels
Destructive actionsConfirmation modalSend email, delete files, trash items, clear data
Non-destructive operations run automatically so multi-step workflows (like “pull calendar into a spreadsheet”) complete smoothly without interruption.

Incremental Permissions

RelayHub uses incremental OAuth authorization. You don’t need to grant access to everything upfront:
  1. First connection: Typically grants Google Drive access
  2. Email request: If you ask about Gmail, RelayHub shows a Connect Gmail card — click to authorize
  3. Calendar request: Same pattern for Calendar access
  4. Sheets/Docs/Slides: Authorized when you first use them
Each service has its own OAuth scope, so you control exactly what RelayHub can access.

Multi-Step Workflows

The AI can chain multiple Google Workspace operations together automatically. Examples:
  • “Get my calendar events for this week and create a spreadsheet summary”
  • “Search my email for invoices from last month, then create a Google Sheet with the amounts”
  • “Create a presentation from the data in my Budget spreadsheet”
The AI executes one step at a time, using results from each step to inform the next. For multi-step workflows, non-destructive operations execute without confirmation so the workflow completes seamlessly.

Disconnecting

To disconnect Google Workspace:
  1. Go to Settings > Google Workspace
  2. Click Disconnect
  3. Confirm when prompted
To fully revoke access, also visit your Google Account permissions page and remove RelayHub.
