The Messaging screen connects RelayHub to the chat platforms that your team uses. After the connection, people can mention the RelayHub bot in a channel and get AI answers in a thread. The answers can use the knowledge of your company, and people do not have to open RelayHub. To open the screen, go to the Admin group in the sidebar and click Messaging. Only administrators see it. The screen has four tabs: Connected Platforms, User Linking, Channel Mapping and Email Delivery.

Supported platforms

Slack

Mention the bot in a channel. The answer comes in the thread.

Microsoft Teams

A Teams bot that your organization installs and uses in channels. It requires a public URL.

Discord

Connects through the Discord gateway. It does not require a public URL.

Google Chat

Answers mentions in Google Chat spaces.

Connect a platform

Click Connect a Platform

On the Connected Platforms tab, click Connect a Platform and select your platform. A setup guide opens. It tells you what to create on the platform and which values to copy.

Enter the credentials

Each platform asks for its own values, for example a bot token, an app ID or a signing secret. RelayHub encrypts all the values that you enter.

Connect

Click Connect Platform. RelayHub checks the values and shows a card for the platform. The card shows the linked users, the mapped channels and the install date. To remove the platform later, click Disconnect.

Update your Slack app

RelayHub adds new features to the Slack app from time to time, for example direct messages to bots. A Slack app that you made before the change cannot use the new features until you paste the new app manifest in Slack. The update takes less than one minute. When to update. The Slack card on the Connected Platforms tab shows Update available and a list of the new features. If people get the error restricted_action_read_only_channel when they send a direct message to the bot, your Slack app needs this update.

Copy the manifest

On the Slack card, click Copy manifest. RelayHub copies the full manifest of your app, with the event subscriptions, and the button shows Copied.

Open the App Manifest page

Click Open the App Manifest page. The App Manifest page of your Slack app opens in a new tab. If you are not signed in to Slack, sign in first.

Paste the manifest

Select all of the text on the page and paste the manifest in its place. Click Save Changes.

Verify and reinstall

If Slack asks you to verify the request URL, click Verify. If Slack shows a bar that asks you to reinstall the app, click reinstall your app and then Allow.

Click I updated it

Go back to RelayHub and click I updated it on the Slack card. The notice goes away.
What the update of October 27th, 2026 gives:
  • People can send direct messages to the RelayHub app and to their bots (the Messages tab of the app).
  • In a direct message, /bot use <name> connects the conversation to one bot. /bot off ends it.
  • A person who is not linked can link the RelayHub account by email in a direct message to the RelayHub app.
The /bot command (November 2026). The newest manifest names the slash command /bot. Until you paste it, the app has the older command /worker. /worker does the same thing, and it keeps working after the update. Finish setup: add the events. After you connect a new Slack app, the Slack card shows Finish setup: add the events. The first manifest has no event subscriptions, so the bot does not get messages yet. Wait up to one minute after you connect, then do the same steps: copy the manifest, open the App Manifest page, paste, save, verify, and click I updated it. When there is no update, the Slack card shows Show the manifest steps. Use it to paste the manifest again. The Slack Manifest button downloads the same manifest as a file. Microsoft Teams shows the same notice when the Teams app package changes. Download the new Teams App Package from the card and upload it in the Teams admin center. Today there is no Teams update. RelayHub must know which RelayHub account sends each message, so that the correct permissions and context apply. Use the User Linking tab:
  • Auto-Link All links platform users to RelayHub users that have the same email address.
  • Link connects one platform user to a RelayHub account that you find with a search.
  • Unlink removes a link.
When a platform user who is not linked sends a message, the bot tells the user to ask an administrator to link the account.

Map channels

On the Channel Mapping tab, you connect platform channels to RelayHub workspaces. When a channel has a workspace, the bot uses the files and the knowledge of that workspace. For example, the #sales channel can use the Sales workspace.
  • Sync Channels finds the channels that the bot joined.
  • Map connects a channel to a workspace. Remap changes the workspace. Unmap removes the connection.
  • When the bot gets its first mention in a channel, RelayHub adds the channel to the list.

Email Delivery

The Email Delivery tab shows if RelayHub can send email for your organization. RelayHub uses email for invitations, password resets and notifications.
  • The top of the tab shows Email delivery is configured or Email delivery is not configured.
  • Mail server shows the settings: SMTP host, Port, Sender, Credential, Sending, Environment, Sent this minute and Sent this hour.
  • Test connection signs in to the mail server to check the credential. It does not send an email.
  • Refresh reads the status again.
If email delivery is not configured, invitations and password resets do not reach the users. Contact RelayHub support to set up the mail server.

Use the bot

After the setup, each linked user can:
  1. Mention the bot in a channel. The answer comes in a thread.
  2. Reply in the thread to continue. You do not have to mention the bot again.
