RelayHub lets you switch between personality modes to change how the AI communicates. Each mode adjusts the AI’s style and approach while keeping all tools and capabilities available.

Switching Modes

You can set a personality mode in two places:
  1. Per-conversation: Click the + button in the chat input area and select a personality from the dropdown
  2. Default for all chats: Go to Settings and choose your preferred default personality

Available Modes

Default

The standard balanced mode. Clear, professional communication with thorough explanations. Good for general-purpose use.

Concise

Short, direct answers. Minimal explanation — just the facts. Ideal for experienced users who want quick answers without extra context.

Formal

Professional and structured communication. Uses formal language, proper formatting, and thorough documentation. Good for generating business documents, reports, and client-facing content.

Socratic

Asks clarifying questions before answering. Helps you think through problems by guiding you with questions rather than jumping to answers. Useful for learning, decision-making, and exploring complex topics.

Brainstorm

A structured idea development mode that walks you through a collaborative process:
  1. Understand: The AI asks probing questions one at a time to understand your goal, constraints, and context
  2. Explore: It proposes 2-3 different approaches with trade-offs and a recommendation
  3. Refine: You work through the chosen approach section by section, with the AI checking in after each part
  4. Finalize: The AI produces a polished document summarizing everything discussed
Brainstorm mode is excellent for strategic planning, process optimization, policy development, business decisions, and any scenario where you need a structured thinking partner rather than a quick answer.
Example use cases:
  • “I need to develop a new employee onboarding process”
  • “Help me think through whether we should acquire this company”
  • “I want to redesign our customer support workflow”
  • “Let’s develop a bonus plan for the sales team”
The AI acts as a consultant — asking tough questions, challenging assumptions, and building toward a comprehensive deliverable. It maintains context throughout the conversation so you can iterate over multiple turns without the AI losing track of what you’ve discussed. At the end, the AI generates a downloadable document with the complete brainstormed plan.

Mode Persistence

  • The personality mode stays active for the entire conversation unless you change it
  • Different conversations can use different modes simultaneously
  • Your default mode (set in Settings) applies to new conversations only — existing conversations keep their current mode
